A Long Break, Lost my Voice And Promises

Alright, it's certainly been a long time since I wrote here, hasn't it?

But I felt that you all needed any update, and I do hope that many of my readers will read here, since I don't believe I'm going to post this on Fanfiction as well.

Anyway, for those wondering, I had a lovely vacation to Walt Disney World. And in fact, I've been home for just under a week. I came back this last Monday, meaning that tomorrow will make a week. But since I've returned things have been just as busy, if not more-so, than before I left. There's just a lot going on, and while for a moment I hope things will clear up, at least for a few days, my life is as busy as ever. So while I had a long and enjoyable break on my trip...It's been back to work for me. In fact, at the moment I really should be working on a psychology assignment that's due tomorrow.

But I'm sure you're wondering...why am I still working on homework on a Sunday night at 8:15? While I suppose this really isn't a question you are asking...there is another one in your head...why was there no new chapter of "Promises" yesterday???

Here's the answer...yesterday was pretty hectic. I got up at 7 and threw on my Han Solo costume to do a performance for our county 4-H music festival. We did a music from the movies theme and placed well...but after that I sped back to my school for a 10:30 report time for our band day...a double parade with bowling and fun in-between. So we marched the first parade, then came back and had a great time bowling. We even spent a half hour playing a great game of capture the flag...woodwinds vs. brass. Brass won...but only unfairly since the rules were changed every two minutes...but generally only for the woodwinds it seemed. It sounds like I'm a sore loser...since I'm captain of the woodwinds...but in general it really was unfair. Not that I have anything against brass. Some of my best friends are brass players....but they still won unfairly.

Anyway, then we went and marched our second parade, where I grew very very VERY frustrated due to some nervousness and overly large egos...all at the same time...within our drumline. It was a very sloppy performance by the entire band...other than maybe a couple of us...myself included since it's pretty hard to screw up drum major. But it was terrible and nothing compared to what we need to be if we want to go to Disney in 2014...and the audition process is all my responsibility...so we'll see how that works...because I know what we need to do, but I don't think the band as a whole does. Meanwhile, I did something to my knee during the parade, and from all the yelling during the day, I ended up losing my voice.

So I've spent all of today either in bed or doing homework...without being able to talk. My throat has felt like it's on fire since last night and my knee was hurting so bad I had to get up in the middle of the night last night to take medicine. Overall it hasn't really been that great of a weekend. Oh...and my back is killing me...as are my shoulders.

What does this have to do with Promises? Well...I sadly have to, yet again, and quite ironically  break my second promise. While I am very much hoping to have the next chapter up on Wednesday, I wasn't able to get one up yesterday. The next few weeks are pretty terrible again...but hopefully I'll be able to sit down a little each night and get some of this writing done because I want to get these chapters out to all of you! I do have quite a bit of work on my end...but I'll save that for another post, since this one is pretty long already.

I'd like to thank all of you for your patience, and don't worry...you won't have to wait six months like Leia did...or at least I hope...to get Han back! There is the excitement that I have a few great ideas for short stories as well...along with that new chapter to Repairs I've been working on! So lots in production...and lots that will hopefully be appearing soon!

And here's a Han/Leia picture to make you all happy!
