In the random case that some of you have yet to hear, The Walt Disney Company bought Lucasfilm yesterday, meaning that now Star Wars (And Indiana Jones) now belong to Disney completely.
There have been many very mixed feelings about this from just about everyone, and since I am a Star Wars fanfiction writer who just happens to love Disney, I felt you guys might be curious about how I feel about this whole thing.
Personally, I think it's s great idea, and its something that will, in the short and long term, benefit both Disney and Lucasfilm. This will open up new opportunities to Lucasfilm that were unavailable before, especially important since there is a second part to this very interesting news...there will be three new Star Wars films, with Episode 7 premiering in 2015. Yes, you heard me, three whole new films, ones that could very possibly include none other than our favorite duo, Han and Leia. Yes, this does bring up some concerns, but I'll get to that in a moment.
I know there are many people out there saying that Disney is going to ruin the films, but I say not so, and I have several reasons for believing this. First, I've seen what Disney and Lucasfilms can do together through Star Tours at Disney World and Disneyland. It's s very impressive attraction and really feel that it brought Star Wars (from the movies) to life while incorporating you into a new story at the same time (the rebel spy/star tours itself). The attraction really impressed me, a person who was recently introduced to Star Wars, but has a passionate for the movie making industry. Secondly, look at Marvel. While Disney owns the company now, "The Avengers" turned out great, and also gives us an idea about how Disney will be running Lucasfilm. The ideas of new movies are not going to be the classic animated children's films that many people, myself included, love from Disney. The continuation of the Star Wars saga and Lucasfilm will be run very similar to Marvel, with LucasFilm running almost as a separate company, just under Disney's leadership. It will provide new opportunities for funding for Lucasfilm to expand and grow to use the newest technologies on these next three films, and while the company is no longer separate, I do believe that the films will be very in touch with the Star Wars we already know and love.
But as I mentioned before, there are a few problems. It has been rumored that the next three films will focus around Luke Skywalker and the New Republic...but we all know that when you have Luke, you also have Han and Leia. Which brings up the question, will it be the original actors? Now, remember that it's takes roughly 3 years for each Star Wars film to be made, and since Harrison Ford is already 70, that would make him about 80 by the time these films were finished. Plus, he's already expressed that while he would be fine with another Indiana Jones film, he would not likely portray the scoundrel of Han Solo again. So who will be the new Han Solo, and will it ever compare to what is in the originals, or will they just write the character out completely? Will they move the storyline to focus more on their children and have cameos by the original actors, or will everything just be ridiculous? I don't know..none of us do, but I do know that no matter what, we have 9 more years of Star Wars films to look forward to, and you never know, if I ever get a job with Disney maybe I'll finally get a chance to meet Harrison Ford because of this!
What are your thoughts? And don't forget...tomorrow begins the next chapter in my own Saga that started with "40 Days!" That's right, "Promises" will premiere TOMORROW!!! I don't know an exact time, but for other information on the story and the release schedule, please check out the previous blog post! :)

Thursday, Thursday, THURSDAY!!!
That's right, we are just a couple of days away from the long-awaited release of "Promises!!!" I'm sure there are some of you out there that are excited, just as I am, but I have a lot of work ahead of me, especially with my vacation.
And so, I ask for your patience. While, as promised (lol...promised), the story will appear on Thursday, November 1st, the continuing chapters will be posted each Saturday (starting with November 10, 2012). That means that there's over a week in between those chapters...but it will make it a bit easier for me. Saturdays tend to be a good time because I can get up and review the chapter before uploading and posting it without having to worry about school, while on the other hand it gives a solid schedule for all of you readers.
This DOES, on the other hand, mean that I will be posting TWO chapters while I am in Florida...which may prove to be a bit difficult since I won't have my own personal laptop down there like I have for years past, as I'm bringing my mom's laptop that has the video editing software on it. But I will be uploading the chapters to the site and will have a back-up copy with me, so hopefully it will all work out. Yet, if I end up being a day late (or I post it late in the day instead of in the morning) for the two weekends I'll be at Disney, don't fret...just remember that I am busy (and probably having a great time or editing the videos) and that the chapters will eventually get up.
So, a recap: The Prologue chapter of "Promises" will be posted sometime on November 1, 2012, and the official first chapter will be posted on Saturday November 10, 2012, with one chapter per week to follow, and be aware that the chapters for the two weeks I am in Florida (November 17 & 24) could be posted either early or late, based on my own schedule for my vacation.
And please remember...you are all more than welcome to check out my daily vacation vlogs while I am in Florida! =)

Updates
Hi everyone!!!
It certainly has been a long time since I've posted here, but I figured I would give everyone updates, especially since I have my new story coming out NEXT WEEK.
Yes, yes, I'll get to that first. I know you are all probably excited about the release of "Promises", the sequel to "40 Days." I've got a bit done, and thankfully I have a long weekend at the moment, and today is going to be dedicated to writing more on that story. I want to have about 8-10 chapters finished by next week, which will be interesting (actually it's a week from TODAY). Why so many chapters? Because I'll be heading to Florida, as many of you already know, for my family vacation in just over three weeks, so I'm not going to have a ton of time to be writing between now and then and when I return.
But don't fear, there will be one chapter a week, at least for the moment. That easily puts me enough ahead to stay that way with my busy schedule. But I'm doing plenty of other stuff along with "Promises" remember.
First and foremost on my list is my Disney vacation. I have a LOT of planning to finish before I leave. The vlogs are still on, and I'm very very excited about them. I honestly can't wait to get down to Florida and start the videoing. The first few days will be very interesting since the first night I'll be up until midnight (later really...like two) and then on the third night I'll be up until about four or five in the morning since I'm staying at Magic Kingdom until 3, even if my family wants to go back, I'll stay! There are a lot of little things that I really can't wait to do in the vlogs, and it will be pretty interesting for editing and spacing things out, but I'll get it all done hopefully. I won't get much sleep, but who needs sleep when you're at Disney World anyway?
So along with all the regular planning, I still want to make a video (hopefully this weekend) with my brother about who can pack the fastest. Now, it's not just who can pack the fastest, but it's who can pack fastest with the largest percent of everything you need. I'm pretty sure I'd win.
Along with those things I'm still slowly working on another entry to my short story, "Repairs." I'm pretty excited about it, just as I am about "Promises" and I have a few other tricks up my sleeve for the next few months. =)
So I hope you are all excited for the premiere of "Promises" exactly a week from today, and be sure to check in on my Youtube channel while I'm in Florida for daily videos (there might even be some Han and Leia moments in there!)
